Bulgaria’s Commission for Protection of Competition is to check the pharmaceutical business of Varna businessman Veselin Mareshki. The inspection will be made on occasion of criminal proceedings initiated by the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office. The prosecutor’s check was suspended due to lack of criminal evidence, but the case was sent to the Commission for the Protection of Competition on suspicions that Mareshki and his partners exerted pressure on pharmacies to buy medicines from them. The check covers the period 2013-2014. Veselin Mareshki took part at the latest Presidential elections in Bulgaria as an independent candidate.
