President Rumen Radev appoints team

President Rumen Radev has signed his first decrees as a head of state. The presidency will consist of an administration of the president and councils which will assist the president and the vice president as they carry out their constitutional powers. The administration of the president includes: chief secretary; head of the president’s office; head of the vice president’s office. Dimitar Stoyanov has been appointed the president’s chief secretary; Ivo Hristov is going to serve as head of the president’s office; and Nadya Mladenova will be in charge of the vice president’s office. The President of the Republic will have secretaries in foreign policy; the Bulgarian Presidency of the European Union 2018; security and defense; legal affairs and anti-corruption; spiritual affairs and culture; regional development, economy and investments; social policy and healthcare; education, science and innovation; home affairs and civil society; media relations. Five councils are constituted at the administration of the president, to act as advisory bodies and to take part in decision-making, formulating positions and stances as well as in launching initiatives in various scopes of public life. These include: Foreign Policy, Security and Defense Council; Legal Affairs Council, Spiritual Affairs and Culture Council; Economic and Social Development Council and Education, Science and Innovations Council.
