Jean-Claude Juncker backs Ognyan Gerdzhikov-led caretaker cabinet

European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker has pledged support for the caretaker government of stability in Bulgaria. In a congratulatory letter to newly appointed caretaker Prime Minister Ognyan Gerdzhikov Juncker states that his government’s assignment will be to provide for free and fair parliamentary elections that will maintain public trust in the democratic process and in the political institutions of the country. The EC President adds that the caretaker government takes office at a moment of great importance for Bulgaria and the European Union and that he expects to meet with Ognyan Gerdzhikov soon.
