Bulgaria’s printed media accentuate on Wednesday on the recent blockades of border checkpoints between Bulgaria and Turkey organized by the United Patriots coalition against the so-called “election tourism”. The Bulgarian Ministry of Interior allowed that political formation to block the state border with Turkey several days before the early Parliamentary elections, Sega daily informs on its first pages. The newspaper reminds that in October 2014 Bulgaria Without Censorship political party organized similar blockade at Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint with the same motif. DOST (Democrats for Responsibility, Freedom and Tolerance) party described the actions of the nationalistic parties as “brutal fascism carried out with the tacit support of the competent state institutions”, Sega daily notes. However, Trud daily contends that the Bulgarian Police warded off the patriots at Malko Tarnovo border checkpoint and that the United Patriots described those actions as “police brutality”. Over 200 policemen guarded the protest at Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint attended by 100 supporters of the United Patriots. However, the police forces did not have to interfere in that protest, Duma daily informs on March 22. “Bulgarian nationals living in Turkey are getting ready for March 26 elections on Facebook”, 24 Chassa daily writes on its first pages. Rodopi 24 website informed that DOST party announced the cities in Turkey where emigrants can use free of charge transport to Bulgaria for the forthcoming elections, the newspaper further informs. Rodopi 24 website claims that on Tuesday morning six buses with Bulgarian emigrants living in Turkey arrived in the city of Kardzhali in 30 minutes only. According to carriers, nearly 100 buses arrived from Turkey between March 10 and 19 and that since March 20 the number of buses arriving from Bulgaria’s southern neighbor has increased. The Central Election Commission banned the election video of DOST party in Turkish language that was broadcast on the social media only, Dnevnik daily informs. CEC has ascertained that the video violated the rule, according to which parties are allowed to agitate in Bulgarian language only.
