Four Eurofighter Typhoon combat aircraft of the Italian air force have landed at Graf Ignatievo air base to take part in the air policing of Bulgaria’s national airspace, alongside Bulgarian air force MiG-29 fighters.

Crews from the two countries will perform air policing missions together until October this year. Allied aircraft frequently patrol NATO air space together. US F-16s joined in the air policing of Bulgaria’s airspace last year.
