A Bulgarian national has returned to his home country after he spent seven years in a Greek prison for murder that he did not commit.
In 2010 the brothers Ivo and Konstantin Bogdanov were accused of murdering a Polish national only based on witnesses’ evidence but the corpse of the victim was not found. Lawyers failed in proving the defendants were not guilty. Two years ago one of the brothers was released and the second one returned to Bulgaria yesterday.
A few months ago the supposed murdered person died of natural causes in a hospital in Tripoli, Greece. This made clear there has been no murder at all, the BNR correspondent in Greece Katya Peeva reports.
