Bulgaria and Macedonia signed long-awaited agreement on friendship, good neighborly relations and cooperation

Bulgaria and Macedonia officially signed the agreement on friendship, good neighborly relations and cooperation in Skopje. The agreement has been prepared since 2008. Bulgaria’s Premier Boyko Borissov and Macedonia’s Premier Zoran Zaev signed the document. Later, the Ministers of Transport and the Ministers of Energy of Bulgaria and Macedonia singed memorandums for cooperation. Macedonia’s Premier Zoran Zaev said after the ceremony: “The Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Macedonia made a historical step forward together. This agreement is a common success and a joint contribution to the stability of the countries in the region”. Bulgaria’s Premier Borissov said in return: “We have realized that this agreement will make the young people stay in the Balkans. This will make us strong, independent and important. I am confident that in 10 years the results of today’s meeting will be visible to both countries”.
