For the 15th time since 2013, a team of four Bulgarian army medics has left to take part in the EU mission providing training to the security forces in Mali.

“Bulgarian medics have been part of different humanitarian and peacekeeping missions abroad for over a century, and their efforts have invariably been highly commended,” said Ventzislav Mutafchiiski, head of the Military Medical Academy at the departure ceremony. He added that that besides at different hot spots around the world, Bulgarian army doctors stand ready to assist the population in peace time in the event of natural calamities, industrial accidents or terrorist acts.
