Germany to support Bulgaria’s efforts to guarantee security of EU external borders

Germany will support Bulgaria’s efforts to guarantee the security of the EU external borders, Germany’s President Frank-Walter Steinmeier assured his Bulgarian counterpart Rumen Radev before the start of the 13th annual meeting of Arraiolos Group Presidents in Malta’s capital Valetta. President Radev thanked Germany for the positive cooperation Between Sofia and Berlin in the security field and the migration sphere. However, Bulgaria’s head of state pointed out that the unpredictable situation in the region requires more European solidarity and warned that Bulgaria’s state budget would not be able to ensure EU security if a new large-scale migration wave occurs.
