Fire alarms Bulgarian tourists in Chalkidiki

The fire in Kassandra, Chalkidiki has been extinguished, firefighters are still on location 

A big fire broke out in the region of Kassandra, Chalkidiki. Most hotels there are full of Bulgarian tourists who came out to watch the efforts to put out the fire from the shore. A strong wind blew clouds of smoke to different parts of Chalkidiki.

The authorities cut off access to the area and vehicles were rerouted. No tourists were evacuated and the firefighters cut off the fire path. Fire trucks and helicopters were used to extinguish the flames, the efforts were joined by local volunteers. Bulgarian tourists with experience in extinguishing fires who happened to be on the spot, also joined in.
