Indian companies to invest USD 55 million in Bulgaria

Companies from India will invest over USD 55 million in different projects in Bulgaria, said Deputy Economy Minister Alexander Manolev during a Bulgarian-Indian business forum in Sofia and added that over the past 10 years bilateral trade has gone up three times – from USD 79 million in 2006 yo USD 215 million in 2016.

The Indian investors expressed appreciation of the potential for development of the IT and outsourcing sector in Bulgaria. Sutherland Global Services has opened four outsourcing centres in the country. A total of 1,600 employees work at the company’s offices in Bulgaria, catering for the European market of leading world companies in more than 16 languages. Bulgarian companies are also successful on the Indian market in internet technologies, bitumen packing, veterinary pharmaceuticals etc.
