Snowfalls closed mountain passes in Bulgaria during the night and made road conditions in some regions of the country difficult, with cars blocked in the Petrohan Pass in Stara Planina.

Despite warnings of meteorologists for possible snowfalls in early October, cars with no winter tires were stuck in the snow, as fallen trees made the situation even more complicated. In the morning it was reported that the Petrohan Pass and the Troyan - Karnare Pass would remain closed until the road was clean and traffic became possible.

Power outages in villages in the Rhodopes have also been reported.

Code orange for adverse weather conditions and strong winds was declared on Sunday for 6 regions of the country: Ruse, Razgrad, Shumen, Varna, Silistra and Dobrich. In twelve more regions the code is yellow.
