On the day when the Orthodox Church commemorates St. Kliment Ohridski (St. Clement of Ohrid), the oldest university in this country, St. Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia celebrates its day.
Before the official even, the Academic Council of the University laid wreathes at the Monument of St. Kliment Ohridski.
Later, the Rector of the University Prof. Anastas Gerdjikov addressed the students, professors and the guests of the event:
“An important part of celebrations will be paying homage to our first and foremost benefactors, the brothers Evlogi and Hristo Georgievi”, he said.
Guests for the Day of Sofia University included the President of the National Assembly Tsveta Karayancheva and Vice President Iliana Iotova.
