At the end of the year, the political figures with the highest approval rating among Bulgarians are President Rumen Radev, Ombudsman Maya Manolova and Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova, indicate data from the latest Gallup International survey, conducted in the 30 November -7 December period. In December, trust in the government stood at 31 percent.

57 percent of the respondents say they have confidence in President Rumen Radev, the approval rating for Maya Manolova is 51 percent, and for Yordanka Fandakova – 40 percent. Confidence in PM Boyko Borissov is also comparatively high – 33 percent. Vice President Iliana Iotova has a personal approval rating of 25 percent.

Approval in several other political figures is also relatively high – Lilyana Pavlova, Krasimir Karakachanov, Mariya Gabriel, Tomislav Donchev, Kornelia Ninova and Ekaterina Zaharieva. The presidential institution is closing the year with an approval rating of 56 percent.

According to Gallup International we are seeing a wearing down of support, customary for any administration, though there are a sufficient number of signs that GERB party has a long-lasting influence.

As is the tradition, parliament has a lower approval rating than the government at the end of the year – 70 percent of respondents have given a negative assessment, as against 22 percent with a positive assessment.
