Bad historical memories should not cast a shadow on hope and opportunities to live peacefully together, so we think there should be a union of religions and unity in diversity. This was what Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said at the opening of the “St. Stephen” Iron Church in Istanbul.

Pointing out he would like to see the only mosque in Sofia renovated, the Turkish President made it clear that he expected reciprocal cooperation from Bulgaria when it comes to the restoration of historical monuments of the Muslim religion on its territory.
