Companies in Bulgaria are obliged to report immediately if they become victims of cybercrime, Gergana Aneva of the International Department of the State e-Government Agency said. The purpose of the measure is to limit the risk of hacker attacks spreading to as wider level.

“Companies often try to hide information when personal data files are compromised from their customers," Aneva said. Last year, over 4,000 cyber-attacks were recorded in Europe, with over 80% of companies affected at least once.
