Sofia hosts conference on EU budget

As part of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU, Sofia is hosting a high-level conference today, to discuss the next EU Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF).

Günther Oettinger, European Commissioner for Budget and Human Resources is in the Bulgarian capital to attend the forum. Before the opening of the conference, in a discussion with the President of the European People’s Party Joseph Daul, Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov commented that the question of the MFF is crucial to Bulgaria and the other new member countries of the EU.

“We expect this framework to take into account the need to develop infrastructure connectivity, education, innovations and the protection of the EU’s external borders,” Boyko Borissov said.
