Trade between Bulgaria and Turkey is balanced and amounted to nearly EUR 4 billion in 2017, Bulgaria’s Minister of Economy Emil Karanikolov announced at a bilateral business forum in Istanbul. Last year Bulgaria’s exports to Turkey saw a 10% increase as compared to 2016 and exceeded EUR 2 billion. Turkey’s export to Bulgaria increased with 17.3% to EUR 1.9 billion. Turkey is Bulgaria’s fourth biggest trading partner in exports and fifth biggest trading partner in imports. Between 1996 and 2017 Turkey’s investments in Bulgaria exceeded EUR 1 billion. In 2017 this country invested EUR 90 million in Bulgaria.
