Annually, the so-called US power plants in Bulgaria - AES-Galabovo and ContourGlobal Maritsa East 3 seize 243 200 000 euros from Bulgarian households in violation of market principles. This was what chairman of the Governing Board of the Association of Industrial Capital in Bulgaria, Vasil Velev, said after a meeting with ombudsman Maya Manolova.

Last week, the heads of the four nationally representative employers' organizations filed a complaint with National Ombudsman Maya Manolova against the two US companies.

Ombudsman Manolova said that changes in legislation should regulate the volume of preferences enjoyed by US power plants and producers of energy from renewable energy sources.
