At an informal meeting in Sofia, Bulgaria’s Minister of the Interior Valentin Radev and his counterparts from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro presented the views of their countries on the EU strategy of enhanced engagement with the Western Balkans.

Minister Radev presented data indicating an 84 percent drop in pressure at the country’s borders, but specified that in view of potential dangers, the efforts to reinforce border control continue.

Macedonia’s Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski pointed out that all countries of the region face similar problems regarding their national security, adding that it is a good thing that there is common ground now that unites rather than divides them, as has been the case in previous years.
