Chairman of the State Agency for Child Protection Eleonora Lilova said it was expected that the new National Strategy for the Child would provide more powers to the NGO sector in caring for children with disabilities and children at risk.

The new strategy currently being developed would allow part of the activities and services for children at risk and with disabilities to be taken care of by non-governmental organizations. The announcement was made by Lilova, who, together with the representative of UNICEF for Bulgaria, Dr. Jane Muita, visited the family-type placement center for children in the town of Razlog.
