Christo Jivkov to star in Passion of the Christ sequel

Bulgarian actor Christo Jivkov will be starring in the sequel to Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ, the film’s crew have announced.

The Bulgarian actor starred in the original blockbuster movie, which grossed over USD 700 million.

The sequel will also feature the original actors Jim Caviezel, Maia Morgenstern, Francesco De Vito. The screenplay is still being kept under wraps, though it is known that it will be by Randall Wallace of Pearl Harbour, Braveheart and We Were Soldiers.

In The Passion of the Christ: Resurrection, Christo Jivkov will play a leading role. The film shoot is expected at the end of 2018 or the beginning of 2019, with a release date at the end of 2019.
