It is realistic to expect that the investor of the Belene nuclear power plant will be selected by the beginning of 2019, Bulgaria’s Minister of Energy Temenuzhka Petkova told representatives of China’s National Energy Administration (NEA), China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC), China General Nuclear Power Corporation (CGN) and China’s State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation (SNPTC) who are paying a working visit to Bulgaria. Minister Petkova has assured her guests that Bulgaria believes that the Belene NPP project can boost the cooperation between the two countries. Minister Temenuzhka Petkova reminded that Bulgaria has been seeking partnership with a strategic investor based on a market principle without the provision of a state guarantee.
