Heavy traffic at Kapitan Andreevo checkpoint on Bulgaria-Turkey border

Traffic is heavy across the Bulgarian-Turkish border at Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint.

A total of almost 4,000 vehicles have crossed over from Turkey into Bulgaria over the past 24 hours, and around 1,000 in the opposite direction.

At Kapikule border checkpoint on the Turkish side there is a congestion and vehicles have to wait 5-6 hours to cross the border. The border police are advising using other checkpoints with Turkey such as Malko Turnovo and Lesovo.
