Bavarian Attorney General Reinhard Roettle meets Premier Borissov and Chief Prosecutor Sotir Tsatsarov, update

Bavarian Attorney General Reinhard Roettle met in Sofia with Bulgaria’s Premier Boyko Borissov and Bulgaria’s Chief Prosecutor Sotir Tsatsarov. 

The ways to boost cooperation in countering organized crime, corruption and terrorism were central to the talks between Borissov, Tsatsarov and Roettle. Premier Boyko Borissov acquainted Reinhard Roettle with Bulgaria’s efforts in the fight against smuggling, economic crime and organized crime groups. Bavarian Attorney General Reinhard Roettle and his Bulgarian counterpart Sotir Tsatsarov discussed topics related to joint investigations under Eurojust, exchange of expertise as well as the new European Public Prosecutor’s Office.

At a meeting with Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister for Judicial Reform and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva, the Attorney General of Munich Reinhard Röttle has thanked Bulgaria for its excellent cooperation with the Free State of Bavaria in law-enforcement and has expressed support for Bulgaria’s readiness to join Schengen by both land and air.
