At a meeting in New York with representatives of American Jewish organizations, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov stated that Bulgaria would highly appreciate their intercession with Congress and the American administration for full visa reciprocity.

During the meeting Boyko Borissov reiterated that Bulgaria was the only country which did not send almost 50,000 of its citizens of Jewish origin to certain death in the Nazi concentration camps. He emphasized that Bulgaria is the 5th EU member country to have accepted the definition of anti-Semitism which will help the judicial authorities identify and prosecute anti-Semitic acts.
