Bulgaria’s debt amounted to EUR 13.2 billion in 2017

In 2017 Bulgaria’s debt amounted to EUR 13.2 billion, or 25.6% of the country’s gross domestic product, the National Statistical Institute informs. According to final data, the State Government sector registered a budget surplus of EUR 573 million, or 1.1% of the GDP. The budget surplus in Central Government subsector amounted to EUR 495 million or 1.0% of the GDP. The Local Government subsector registered a surplus of EUR 122 million. The Social Security Funds subsector had a deficit of EUR 32 million.
