ECB will not assess Bulgarian banks in November

Photo: www.ecb.europa.eu

In an interview for the Bulgarian National Radio a source  from the European Central Bank denied the information that ECB supervisors will arrive in November in Bulgaria to assess 6 Bulgarian banks in line with this country’s application to join the ERM2 mechanism, also known as the Eurozone’s waiting room. According to the ECB source, this may happen if amendments to the Bulgarian legislation enabling the European Central Bank to supervise Bulgarian banks are made. Unicredit Bulbank, DSK Bank and United Bulgarian Bank are among the banks which are most likely to be checked by the ECB when this financial institution is enabled to make bank supervisions in Bulgaria.
