Bulgaria’s energy strategy needs to be updated, this country’s Minister of Energy Temenuzhka Petkova said in the Bulgarian National Assembly. Bulgaria is expected to lose most of its revenues from transit of natural gas after the fulfillment of the Turkish Stream gas project. If Bulgaria fails to react adequately, the large infrastructure projects in the region would have negative effect on the country’s national economy. Bulgaria’s Minister of Energy Petkova believes that Bulgaria must participate at the construction of the LNG terminal at the Greek port of Alexandroupolis which would allow access to new sources of natural gas supply from the USA, Qatar and Egypt.
