A Korean company, leader in the manufacture of automotive components, is to acquire two factories in Bulgaria with almost 500 workers, as part of a global asset acquisition and production diversification deal.

The deal is to be finalized during the first quarter of 2019. This was announced after the meetings Deputy Economy Minister Lachezar Borisov had with Korean companies from the automobile industry with an interest in investing in Bulgaria. In Seoul Deputy Minister Borisov took part in a session of the Korea-Bulgaria Industrial Cooperation Committee. The participants noted that during the first 6 months of 2018, Bulgaria’s exports to the Republic of Korea went up by almost 120 percent, reaching USD 40.5 million.
