Bulgarian pensioners protest against low living standard

Representatives of pensioner’s organizations and military patriotic unions protested in front of the Bulgarian National Assembly on Wednesday. They insisted that their pensions are recalculated and the pension ceiling is removed. The pensioners also protested against the low living standard and called on the authorities to adopt an Elderly People Act. Meanwhile, the Bulgarian MPs decided that pensions will increase with 5.7% on July 1, 2019. The minimum pension will be to the tune of nearly EUR 110 and the maximum will amount to EUR 600.
