The members of the European Parliament will discuss next Monday and vote on Tuesday a resolution which calls on the EU Council to take swift decision about the accession of Bulgaria and Romania to the Schengen Area. The European Parliament gave a green light for Schengen accession of the two countries in June 2011 and has reaffirmed its position several times since then. The final decision must be taken with a unanimous voting at the EU Council. According to the Bulgarian authorities, it is realistic for their country to enter the Schengen by air in the spring of 2019.
