Almost 2000 people illegally entered Bulgaria in 2018, migration statistics of the Ministry of Interior show. Data show that despite the fence along the border with Turkey and the reinforced guarding, many of the illegal entries take place there. Before December 23, the police registered 1807 illegal residents in Bulgaria. Most of them are from Afghanistan - 47.5%, Iraq (26.6%), and Syrians (10.2%).
