Flu epidemic declared in four Bulgarian districts

Flu epidemic has been declared in four Bulgarian districts (Stara Zagora, Burgas, Silistra and Shumen) on Tuesday. On Wednesday flu epidemic will be declared in Ruse as well. Varna and Yambol districts are also expected to be affected by the influenza. Bulgaria’s health authorities advise people to reduce social contacts and avoid public gatherings in closed areas. The people affected by flu are advised to stay at home and visit their general practitioners. The authorities also recommend that studies, elective surgeries and hospital visits should be suspended for one week in the abovementioned districts.
