Heavy rain and snow warning in southern Bulgaria

A working meeting has been convened at the Ministry of Interior because of expected heavy snow and rain in the country. A state of readiness to react in a complicated meteorological environment has been declared.

"Fire Safety and Protection of the Population" sent a warning and instructions for measures to be taken to district governors and mayors of municipalities. In five districts in southern Bulgaria orange code is declared for heavy rainfall. In 17 more districts the code is yellow. In southern Bulgaria, rainfall is expected to be heavy as above 800 meters of altitude it will turn to snow, with around 35-40 liters per square meter expected.
