Kristalina Georgieva takes over as World Bank Interim President

As of today Kristalina Georgieva is taking over as Interim President of the World Bank until the spring when a new president will be elected.

The World Bank has always been headed by American citizens. When Jim Yong Kim stepped down to join the private sector, there was speculation that he would be replaced by Ivanka Trump. It was later announced that the daughter of US President Donald Trump would take part in the election process of the new World Bank President.
