“Bulgaria must not interfere in the Venezuela dispute, but the worst thing of all is that the Bulgarian government does not have a position of its own on the matter,” said President Rumen Radev in Sofia. The Bulgarian head of state said that Bulgaria should refrain from giving its support to the European position on Venezuela.

On Wednesday, 6 February, the Bulgarian government recognized Juan Guaidó as interim president, with a view to the holding of democratic elections, soon, for a peaceful resolution of the crisis, preventing a humanitarian catastrophe and deterring any further escalation of tension in Venezuela.
