Bulgartransgaz may issue bonds or take out a bank loan in the first six months of the year to finance the construction of the transit 484 kilometer new gas pipeline. The project is estimated at 1.2 billion euro. There is a third financing option – through leasing which Bulgartransgaz will pay off from transit fees.

“We have never regarded this pipeline as a Bulgarian section of TurkStream because it is an extension of our gas transmission system,” said the company’s Executive Director Vladimir Malinov.
