Bulgaria continues to oppose Mobility 1 Package in EP

I am furious that the Mobility 1 Package entered the European Parliament’s agenda, Bulgaria’s Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Rosen Zhelyazkov commented after the EP confirmed the vote on the Mobility 1 Package. 156 MEPs voted in favor of the French proposal and 154 were against. Three Bulgarian MEPs did not attend the voting on Monday. In Minister Zhelyazkov’s words, the Mobility 1 Package does not have future in its current form, because it is against the EU principles, the European law, the Lisbon Treaty and discriminates the haulers from the periphery.  It is unacceptable to solve competition issues with protectionist decisions which fragment the transport market in the EU, Rosen Zhelyazkov added.
