Tender offers for Belene NPP construction accepted in May

Bulgarian Minister of Energy Temenuzhka Petkova has taken part in "Atomexpo" in the Russian resort of Sochi, where she had meetings with representatives of companies that have already expressed interest in the Belene NPP project. These are Russian “Rosatom”, French “Framatome” and American “General Electric”. Petar Iliev, the executive director of the Natsionalna Elektricheska Kompania, said that Hungarian investors have also visited the Belene site and expressed interested. Potential investors may apply for participation in the Belene NPP project from the beginning of May, when the procedure will be published in the official EU Gazette, Petkova said. The deadline for submitting application documents is 90 days after the publication.
