In March 2019 a total of 478.300 Bulgarians travelled abroad, which was 3.5% more as compared to the previous year, the National Statistical Institute announced. The number of people travelling to Germany increased with 10.2%, the number of Bulgarians travelling to Greece went up by 8.9% and the number of Bulgarians travelling to Turkey saw a 7.1% increase. 48.3% of the foreign nationals visiting Bulgaria in March 2019 were EU citizens, which was 5.0% more as compared to March 2018. The number of non-EU citizens visiting Bulgaria increased with 7.1%.
