The visit of Pope Francis to Bulgaria ended on Tuesday morning when he departed to North Macedonia’s capital Skopje. Bulgaria’s Premier Boyko Borissov saw the head of the Catholic Church off at Sofia Airport. I am very pleased with my visit to Bulgaria, because you are a robust people. Thank you for your efforts to maintain good relations with the neighboring countries and build bridges, His Holiness Pope Francis told the Bulgarian Premier Borissov. Boyko Borissov thanked Pope Francis for visiting Bulgaria and underlined that this country will continue to work for peace in the region.
