Bulgaria is among EU countries with lowest level of temporary employment

Bulgaria is among the five EU countries with the lowest proportion of temporary employment, according to Eurostat's analysis of EU labor market trends in 2018. Our country has a 4% share of temporary employment for people aged 15-64, with an EU average of 14%. According to this data, there were about 130,000 temporary workers in Bulgaria last year at the backdrop of a total of 3.2 million people who were economically active in the period. Temporary employment covers mostly people with basic or lower education - 80,000.
