Presidents Rumen Radev and Vladimir Putin

Bulgarian President Rumen Radev has met with Russian President Vladimir Putin at Konstantinov Palace in the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. One of the key topics of discussion at the meeting was cooperation in the energy sphere. Energy resources accounted for 75% of Bulgaria's imports from Russia. Cooperation between the two countries, which this year marks 140 years since establishment of diplomatic relations, was also a topic of discussion.

Relations between Russia and Bulgaria have been gradually recovering, the Russian President said. He has pointed out that proof of this was the steady growth of trade between the two countries since the beginning of 2019.
