Bulgaria’s Premier Boyko Borissov enjoys a higher support than his own political party GERB, a survey of Market Links market research company made between June 11 and 19 shows. Borissov’s rating was not influenced by the recent scandal related to the purchase of luxurious apartments at prices below market value by high-standing officials. The more Boyko Borissov shows in public, the bigger relief the Bulgarians feel that there is someone with a firm hand to rule them, sociologist Donromir Zhivko commented. The leader of the Bulgarian Socialist Party Kornelia Ninova enjoys lower support than her political party. Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev is supported by 54% of the surveyed citizens. If elections were held in June, GERB would earn 30.6% of the votes, BSP would earn 28.9% of the votes and the Movement for Rights and Freedoms can rely on 8% electoral support. The United Patriots coalition would earn 6% of the votes and Democratic Bulgaria would earn 5.3% of the votes, the survey further reads.
