The competition took place under the Swiss system in nine rounds. There were 34 contestants from 9 countries, including four former world champions. The Bulgarian won the title without a loss. In the last ninth round, the Grandmaster finished in a draw against Harika Dronavalli from India, which was enough to win the title. This has been Stefanova’s first title since she gave birth last year. She received a cheque for 40,000 US dollars for the success.
