Agreement on purchase of F 16 jets from US enters into force

The contract for the purchase of 8 new F-16 fighter jets from the United States has entered into force together with the Industrial Cooperation Agreement with Lockheed Martin and the state budget update needed to finance the deal. This is the final stage of the Bulgarian procedure for entry into force of the agreement. Bulgaria is issuing additional state debt in order to supply more money than the initially allocated 900 million euros. President Rumen Radev vetoed the ratification act but the parliament rejected his veto.
