The citizens and guests of Bulgaria’s capital Sofia can use another service as of today, August 23. A total of 154 electric scooters can be rented at nearly 200 free parking spots, Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova announced. The Shared Travel campaign is one of the measures aimed at improving the quality of air in Sofia, where the car traffic is the main pollutant. People aged 18 or above can use the new service. Users are free to leave the electric scoters at any of the designated parking sports. The payment can be made with a credit card or via PayPal. The electric scooters can cover a maximum distance of 25 to 30 kilometers with one charge of the battery. At the insistence of Mayor Fandakova, the maximum speed was limited to 20 kilometers per hour.
