Bulgaria’s Ombudsman Maya Manolova will run for mayor of Sofia

Bulgaria’s Ombudsman Maya Manolova announced that she will run for mayor of this country’s capital Sofia and that she resigns from her current position of national Ombudsman. On this occasion, Bulgaria’s Premier Boyko Borissov underlined that his political party GERB voted for Manolova to become a national Ombudsman. Yesterday, the current Mayor of Sofia Yordanka Fandakova announced that she would run again for mayor of Bulgaria’s capital, nominated by the ruling GERB party. Premier Borissov voiced hopes that Maya Manolova and GERB’s candidate Yordanka Fandakova will engage in fair competition.
