Prime Minister of Bulgaria Boyko Borisov and his counterpart from the Republic of Korea, Lee Nak-yeon, discussed in Seoul prospects for further development of bilateral relations. PM Borisov said that the Republic of Korea was one of Bulgaria's priority economic partners in Asia and there was mutual interest in raising partnership between the two countries to a strategic level, which was crucial in order to strengthen and deepen relations between the Asian country and the EU.
Bulgarian Prime Minister Borisov highlighted the prospects for cooperation in high technology, mechanical engineering, transport and education. There is also strong interest in opportunities for investments in Bulgaria's road infrastructure by Korean construction companies. Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon said energy cooperation was particularly important and an agreement was signed during Borisov's visit. There are also opportunities for cooperation in the military sphere, science, technology, culture and education, the Korean Prime Minister said.
